ROLE

  • In 2003 I obtained the title of instructor of the Italian athletics federation
  • In 2007 I obtained the diploma of Technician-trainer from the Italian Federation of Athletics, card number SI0287, presenting the experimental thesis with the theme “Lipid Power: an undervalued parameter”
  • Perfected a revolutionary and innovative method to train the 3,000 m steeplechase which was very successful
  • From the beginning of 2014 I conceived and founded the Tuscany Camp and I started to discover and train the boys of the Ugandan, Burundian and Italian National, including: Jacob Kiplimo, Oscar Chelimo, Vittore Borromini, Albert Chemutai, Fred Musobo, Solomon Munyo Mutai, Mercyline Chelangat, Juliet Chekwel and many others. In collaboration with the Ugandan Federation, the Tuscany Camp has helped Uganda grow into one of the strongest nations in the world in the race.
  • From March 2014 I am coach-technician of the extended racing sector at the Ugandan Athletics Federation

TRAINER RESULTS

FROM 2000 TO 2016

  • I trained many young people and amateurs in the half and bottom, so that all their personal best can be achieved.

FROM 2000 UNTIL TODAY

  • Collaboration with Prof. Dr. Marco Bonifazi (Medical-scientific Manager of the Italian Swimming National Team) at the University of Siena in various scientific research projects, in particular on overheating.
  • Currently collaborating with the Universities of Verona, Siena and Milan to understand how to scientifically discover and develop young talents in running.

  • Team leader of the Ugandan National at the World Championships of racing in the mountains in Casette di Massa (Italy), where my athlete Isaac Kiprop won the gold medal

2015

  • Team leader of the Ugandan National at the World Championships of racing campestre Guiyang (China)
  • Team leader of the Ugandan National at the World Championships of light athletics in Beijing (China), where my athlete Solomon Munyo Mutai won the bronze medal in the marathon
  • Team leader of the Ugandan National Team at the World Championships in the mountain in England, where my athlete Fred Musobo won the gold medal

2016

  • Team leader of the Ugandan National at the World Championships of half marathon at Cardiff (England)
  • Mercyline Chelangat won the bronze medal at the Eastern Africa Junior Championships in Tanzania
  • Robert Chemonges won the Trieste International Marathon in 2h11’45”
  • Team leader of the Ugandan National at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz (Poland), where my athletes achieved the following results:
    • Jacob Kiplimo (15 years old): Bronze medal in 10,000m with time of 27/26
    • Mercyline Chelangat (18 years old): 4th place in 5.000m with the time of 15’34 “
    • Albert Chemutai (16 years old): 7th place in the 3,000m steeplechase with the time of 8’37 ’’
  • Participated in the Rio Olympics as responsible for the coaches of the Ugandan Athletics National Team and where the Tuscany Camp physiotherapy staff followed the whole olympic team
  • Team leader of the Ugandan National team at the World Championships in the mountains in Bsapareva Banya (Bulgaria), where my athletes achieved the following results:
    • Jel Ayeko won the gold medal in the junior race
    • Victor Kiplangat won the silver medal in the junior race
    • Albert Chemutai won the bronze medal in the junior race
    • Robert Chemonges won the gold medal in the seniores race

2017

  • Team of the Ugandan National at the cross championships of Kampala, where my athlete Jacob Kiplimo won the gold medal
  • My athlete Albert Chemutai (18 years old) arrived 10th absolute in the final of the World Championships in London in the 3.000 m steeplechase
  • My athlete Mary Joy Tabal (Philippines) won the gold medal at Sea Games in marathon
  • Team leader of the Dutch National Team at the Mountain Racing World Cup in which my athletes won 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal (Victor Kiplangat, Fred Musobo, Oscar Chelimo, Joel Ayeko)
  • My athlete Stefano la Rosa broke the Italian record on the 25 km on the road in India

2018

  • Team Leader of the Ugandan National at the World Championships of half marathon in Valencia
  • Team leader of the Ugandan National at the Championships of the Juniores World in Tampere, where my athletes achieved the following results:
    • Jacob Kiplimo (17 years old): Silver medal in 10,000m
  • My athlete Albert Chemutai (18 years old)
    • won 3000 m steeplechase in World Continental Tour in Madrid
    • placed 4th in World Championships J. in 3000 m steeplechase
    • placed 6th in 3000 m steeplechase in Diamond League Doha and Rome
  • My athlete Oscar Chelimo (16 years old) placed 7th in 5000 m.
  • Team leader of the Ugandan National Team at the World Championships in mountain racing, where my athlete Oscar Chelimo won the bronze medal J.
  • At the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, I obtained the following results with my athletes:
    • Oscar chelimo won the 3000 m
    • Jean De Dieu Butoyi won the 1500 m
    • Esther Yeko made 2,000 Argentina in 2,000 steeplechase
  • In Madrid, Jacob Kiplimo made the best worldwide performance on the 10 km on the street in the 26 and 41 streets, breaking the record of Eliud Kipchoge of 13 seconds on the same path

2019

  • Ugandan National Team at the Cross World Championships in Denmark, where Uganda won the gold senior team medal after 40 years of dominance from Kenya and Ethiopia. My athletes individually achieved the following results:
    • Jacob Kiplimo won the senior silver medal even though he was still junior
    • Oscar Chelimo won the bronze medal j.
    • Hosea Kiplangat arrived 6th junior
    • Albert Chemutai arrived 12th senior
    • Onesphore Nzikwinkunda arrived 14th senior
    • Juliet Chekwel arrived 13th senior
    • Cavaline Nahimana arrived 37th senior
    • Elvanie Nimbona arrived 55th senior

  • Oscar Chelimo obtained the 2nd best performance in the world of all time on the 5 km road 13 ’17’ ‘in Bolzano

2021

  • Organizer and General Director of the Tuscany Camp half marathon (Siena – Ampugnano). National record.
  • Organizer and General Director of the European Olympic marathon qualification race, Xiamen Marathon and Tuscany Camp Global Elite race (Siena – Ampugnano). Tokyo Olympics qualification.
  • I was appointed by World Athletics to assist and provide opportunities to the world to qualify for the Olympic Games.
  • My athlete Jhinaoui Mohamed Amin placed 5th in 3000 m steeplechase in Diamond League Stockholm
  • I participated in the Tokyo Olympics as team leader of the Burundian Olympic Committee, with my athlete Oscar Chelimo’s 5000m olympic final and Olivier Irabaruta’s 39th marathon.
  • My athlete Lionel Nihimbazwe placed 5th in the Nairobi World Championship J.

2022

  • My athlete Olivier Irabaruta set the new Burundian national record of 2h 07 ’13” in marathon by finishing 2nd in the Zurich Marathon
  • My athlete Oscar Chelimo won the bronze medal in 5000m at the World Championships in Eugene
  • My athlete Vittore Simone Borromini won the bronze medal in 3000m at the European Youth Olympics in Banská Bystrica (SVK)
