Dr. Bruno De Capua

Dr. Bruno De Capua was born in Cariati (CS) on April 3, 1948 and obtained his classical high school diploma at the Liceo Ginnasio di San Demetrio Corone (CS) in 1966. He enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and obtained his degree in the academic year 1973/74.

In October 1974 he entered the ENT Clinic of the University of Siena as an internal student and at the same time he was enrolled in the School of Specialization in ENT Clinic and Head and Neck Pathology. As such he carried out assistance and scientific research tasks until November 1, 1975 when he was hired as a Substitute Hospital Assistant at the same Clinic.

On May 12, 1976 he was called to fulfill his military obligations as a medical officer at the Carabinieri Legion of Catanzaro with the qualification of Director of the Legionary Health Service.

In August 1977, having obtained his discharge, he resumed service at the ENT Clinic of Siena as a volunteer Assistant and here he obtained the Diploma of Specialization in ENT Clinic and Head and Neck Pathology in November 1977. From 1 September 1978, following a public competition, he was appointed to the permanent position of Hospital Assistant at the ENT Clinic of Siena. In 1987, he obtained, with resolution of the Regional Council of Tuscany n. 5286, the suitability as an ENT Assistant. In December 1993, as a winner of a competition, he was appointed as a tenured hospital assistant in the ENT discipline.

From 10 January 1993, he was a first-level management doctor in the ENT discipline. During these years, he taught practical courses to students of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and participated in the creation of degree, diploma and specialization theses. He was a member of the examination commissions for the degree course in Medicine and Surgery.

EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC TASKS

  • Teacher of “ENT Semiotics – Ear”, Preventive and Social ENT, General Audiology” in the School of Specialization in Otolaryngology.
  • Teacher of “Audiology” in the School of Specialization in Occupational Medicine.
  • Teacher of “General Speech Therapy in the C.D.U. Audiometry and Hearing Aid Technician.
  • Head of the Preventive and Social Audiology Module at the Siena ENT Clinic.
  • Otorhinolaryngologist Consultant at USL 7.
  • Audiologist Consultant in the Workplace Hygiene and Safety Prevention Service of USL 7 Siena.
  • Specialist Referent in otorhinolaryngology for the G.O.I.F. (Functional Interdisciplinary Operational Group of USL 7).

The scientific activity is realized in n. 74 publications on various topics of ENT competence, with particular regard to Industrial, Preventive and Social Audiology. He has participated in numerous National and International Congresses of ENT competence.
